Audio Osmosis is a highly-skilled and accomplished DJ and Promoter with years of experience in the music industry.
After moving to Victoria in 2009, Jzero Schuurman quickly immersed himself in the local music scene, promoting shows through the Fifty Fifty Arts Collective. Soon after, he and his partner Renee co-founded The Copper Owl, a venue that became one of the city’s most sought-after spaces for live music, DJ nights, poetry, and art showcases. Over the years, the Owl hosted hundreds of events before closing its doors in 2020.
During his time at The Copper Owl, Jzero became a founding member of the Garden City Electronic Music Society and began DJing under the moniker Audio Osmosis. He has hosted a radio show under the same name on CFUV 101.9 FM for over a decade. As Audio Osmosis, he has performed regularly at clubs and venues across Victoria and Vancouver, and is available for hire for weddings, corporate events, and private functions, offering tailored, genre-spanning sets.
Recognizing that many touring acts would stop in Vancouver without making it to Vancouver Island, Jzero took the initiative to create opportunities for artists to perform in Victoria. He has since built a reputation for helping touring musicians navigate the unique challenges of reaching the island, working closely with artists to make their shows viable and successful.
In addition to his work as a promoter and DJ, Jzero is the producer behind the musical project Psychic Pollution and plays drums for the local garage rock band The Top Rops. A lifelong musician, he has performed in various bands across Canada.
Through Audio Osmosis, Jzero books a wide range of venues—from large-capacity spaces like Studio 919 to more intimate rooms such as Lucky Bar and Wheelies Motorcycles. When traditional venues aren’t available, he gets creative, transforming halls, churches, and community centers into memorable live music experiences—whatever it takes to make a great show happen.
